Curaçao offers the kind of dive vacation that is easy to love: warm Caribbean water, excellent visibility, healthy coral, abundant small marine life and convenient diving directly from the resort. It is a relaxed destination where you can enjoy two guided boat dives in the morning, make another shore dive in the afternoon or at night, and still have plenty of time to enjoy the beach, restaurants and resort.

Curaçao is one of the Caribbean’s most underrated dive destinations. Its fringing reefs begin close to shore and feature colorful hard and soft corals, clear water and an impressive variety of reef life. The island’s generally manageable conditions make it enjoyable for newer divers while still offering plenty for experienced divers and underwater photographers.

🏨 Sunscape Curaçao Resort — All Inclusive

Sunscape Curaçao gives our group an easy, comfortable home base with the dive operator located onsite. The package includes a spacious Deluxe room with a tropical garden view, along with meals, snacks, beverages—including alcoholic beverages—and resort entertainment.

The resort offers multiple dining options, including buffet dining, seafood, Italian, grilled specialties and hibachi. When you are not diving, enjoy the beach and lagoon, relax by the pool, visit the gym, sauna or steam room, or take in the resort’s nightly entertainment.

Its location near Mambo Beach also puts shops, restaurants and entertainment within easy reach. Room upgrades may be available for an additional fee. The ocean-view room shown below is an available upgrade and is not included in the base package.

🤿 Diving With Ocean Encounters

Ocean Encounters is located directly at the resort and will host our dives. Their large, well-kept dive boats include a marine head, and their experienced staff and guides make the diving safe, organized and fun.

The house reef begins approximately 30–40 yards from shore, making it easy to add afternoon or night dives after the morning boat dives. With unlimited shore diving included, you control how much you want to dive.

Our planned dive package includes three days of 2-tank boat diving—six boat dives total—plus unlimited shore diving. Specific dive sites and schedules are determined by the dive operator based on weather, sea conditions, logistics and diver experience.

Curaçao’s healthy reefs support a wonderful variety of Caribbean marine life. Although this destination is better known for reefs and smaller creatures than for large pelagic animals, every dive offers something to discover.

• Sea turtles, moray eels and spotted snake eels
• Frogfish, seahorses, blennies and gobies
• Arrow crabs, shrimp and lettuce sea slugs
• Princess parrotfish, pygmy angelfish and schools of colorful reef fish
• Hard and soft corals filled with excellent macro subjects

ℹ️ Diver Requirements & Expectations

• Certification: Open Water Diver or equivalent
• Dive computer: Required for every diver
• Dive insurance: Strongly recommended for every diver
• Travel insurance: Strongly recommended to protect your trip investment
• Flying after diving: Allow at least 18 hours—and ideally 24 hours—between your final dive and departing flight
